A 13 POT switch-hitting future catcher? Don't mind if I do. May be a 20-yo in rookie ball, but at this stage of the draft I'll take it.

Not even the dignity of a good potential in the scouting report.

Catch and release.

@Dcmrulz - hey, you won 112-claim Doyle off waivers, your day is already good!

Raúl Veliz: Not a bad pull, but reason for concern is that with those extremes in Hitting, Power, and Fielding, it only leaves 15 to 17 points for BC and PD. And that defensive profile is meh; maybe 3B? But I have 3B out the wazoo. Will need to gain SI quickly too. Potential release, hold for now.

I still haven't seen a very good potential guy this draft season, so I'll likely go the entire season without one. Going along with the same theme, I still haven't successfully claimed anyone off waivers either.

Have I ever said how much I hate the draft and waivers? Maybe I should do that some time.

Edit--Lost, I'd be much more worried about the necessary rate of development than anything else. His BC and PD should be better than you think if he gets to his potential. I do agree with what you said, though, about 3B probably being his best placement.

Drafted http://brokenbat.org/player/156000 Carlos Franco, who is decidedly "meh" but hopefully carries those scouting descriptions into something worth watching.

Went latin and took Elias hoping for a SS/3B, but he has arguably the worst build for a 14 pot i've ever seen.

Not enough range for 2B
Not enough arm for 3B-C-OF
Not enough hitting for 1B

But He's young and could steal some bases, plus should have high BC and PD.

I'l train him for 1B because i lack this position in my minors, but if i find someone better next year i could definitely cut him.

The discord crowd went wild, his low pd and DH structure had me going meeeeh. I'll keep for now and see how he builds out for a season or two, but he's at best 3 players from the chopping block as far as prospects go, my minors is fairly stacked

Get 5 P 5 NP on Asian pool but all pitchers has negative control report... what? Also none of hitter has over-good potential and only 1 never-be-decent-hitter AA guys. No choice but to pick good-potential lack-control one. Easy C&R.

Not a great selection, only two with "good" scouting. This was only one without a negative report. Looks like solid middle infielder that will hit for average. Hopefully other gains will be to BC and PD over Power.

Got a 15 pot guy who can play shortstop, bats left, throws right! Too bad he'll never be a decent hitter...

@12twelve - nice pick! I think many of us would have your 13 pot over buff's 15 pot, but both nice picks for round 4.

Thanks almaric. Hard to look at a 15 pot and not be jealous, but the "will never be a decent hitter" is something that I typically try to stay away from although there is so much else going for buff's pick. Hope he works out for ya buff!

Picked up a 12POT dh prospect. Even if I manage to stay in LL.V this season it may not be long before I'm back down. I have no real pitching in my minors. I have seen one remotely decent pitcher in the draft this season. Only had one pitcher among my choices this week.

I picked up a much needed 12 pot rhp I'm actually quite content with for round 4.

I would be quite happy with either buff or 12s draft choices for SS and see how they work out.

Looks to be a good hitter that doesn't have the skill to play anywhere. Definitely a keeper though.

Must be nice to have the game like you... I didn't get a birthday present on my birthday the week of the 1st round pick. 4th round pick was an insta-cut, and we are now in season #5 since I drafted or claimed a guy capable of replacing Poole, Thomason, Rosa, or Di Carlo. No, Hickman doesn't count, as he has a lot of wasted skills, and I have gaping holes in the future at SS, 2B, and C.

The usual waiver bump after Friday has not been there the past two weeks. Waivers seem to be continuing the decline they've been on for a couple seasons now. Wonder if it's a function of better ownership or worse drafting?

Don't forget the function of, "you have too much talent on your team so everything else looks like garbage." ;)
