lostraven Joined: 07/02/2016 Posts: 1269 Corvallis Ravens II.1 | Raúl Veliz: Not a bad pull, but reason for concern is that with those extremes in Hitting, Power, and Fielding, it only leaves 15 to 17 points for BC and PD. And that defensive profile is meh; maybe 3B? But I have 3B out the wazoo. Will need to gain SI quickly too. Potential release, hold for now.

MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | I still haven't seen a very good potential guy this draft season, so I'll likely go the entire season without one. Going along with the same theme, I still haven't successfully claimed anyone off waivers either. Have I ever said how much I hate the draft and waivers? Maybe I should do that some time. Edit--Lost, I'd be much more worried about the necessary rate of development than anything else. His BC and PD should be better than you think if he gets to his potential. I do agree with what you said, though, about 3B probably being his best placement. Updated Friday, June 2 2017 @ 5:52:28 am PDT |

Not enough range for 2B Not enough arm for 3B-C-OF Not enough hitting for 1B But He's young and could steal some bases, plus should have high BC and PD. I'l train him for 1B because i lack this position in my minors, but if i find someone better next year i could definitely cut him. |

I'll keep for now and see how he builds out for a season or two, but he's at best 3 players from the chopping block as far as prospects go, my minors is fairly stacked |

Looks like solid middle infielder that will hit for average. Hopefully other gains will be to BC and PD over Power. |

12twelve Joined: 02/05/2017 Posts: 131 Inactive | Thanks almaric. Hard to look at a 15 pot and not be jealous, but the "will never be a decent hitter" is something that I typically try to stay away from although there is so much else going for buff's pick. Hope he works out for ya buff!

I have no real pitching in my minors. I have seen one remotely decent pitcher in the draft this season. Only had one pitcher among my choices this week.

I didn't get a birthday present on my birthday the week of the 1st round pick. 4th round pick was an insta-cut, and we are now in season #5 since I drafted or claimed a guy capable of replacing Poole, Thomason, Rosa, or Di Carlo. No, Hickman doesn't count, as he has a lot of wasted skills, and I have gaping holes in the future at SS, 2B, and C.
