Some people like to bring up some of their minor leaguers at the end of the season. I would only do this with a guy who has a healthy progression and you have no doubts he will get the call up before he turns 25. The benefit of bringing a guy up for some major league experience is that they will be better players when they actually get the call up. The downsides are that they will play poorly now (not a biggie if you don't need the wins), and that they will lose minors training (not a biggie if they are progressing well through the minor league levels already). |
