For some reason, closers seem to be one of top earners on a team.

Salary as a factor to cut or keep a player depends on many factors. Such as your long term perspective, suitable backups, current financial situation.

However at the core, you must consider if they are worth the current salary. In my opinion 3.25 million for a reliable closer is a steal. My closer Felix had an off season, but having a pitcher that can put away for me is worth his 5.50 million. It helped get the promotion.

Depends on many factors, such as backups, future closer in pipeline, salary, performance, etc.

If you can afford to keep him and he's doing well, I would say yes I would keep him.
