Can someone please look at my team and help explain why my pitching is so bad. We are by far the best hitting team in the league, but we have a 5.7 era as a team. The next worse is like 4.7. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not really qualified, because the more I think I know, the less I seem to know :), but I do find it fun to look at other teams.

Purely looking at pitchers, no matter the metrics you look at, Ks/9, BBs/9, K/BB ratio, HRs/9, etc, whatever you think makes a good pitcher, I don't think Ron Mathews or Lorenzo Ibáñez have ever been good pitchers (even though Lorenzo Ibáñez is a 3 time All-Star).

Tony Wade and Kirk Boswell are both inexperienced, and it may be better to get them major league expereience in the MR roles so they are not coming into high leverage situations.

I think also the fact that you are last place in your league at double plays isn't helping. I suspect it's because your SS is not really a SS, at least not experienced at SS.

That's what I see, but I will be interested in what others see, as I always like to learn and would like to make it to LL II someday.

SI and POT isn't useful for veteran players. You need to make decisions based on player performance. Generally speaking your pitching staff is old. A lot of your 35 year olds are probably no longer effective due to age despite their SI rating. They also were very effective in League 5 and 6 but are not effective at higher leagues due to increased competition. This is not uncommon in this game. A lot of players rake in Leagues 5 and 6 and fall off dramatically once they hit the higher competition in League 4 or higher. Some guys with high stamina are also better suited for the bullpen. Ask yourself the following questions on every pitcher: 1. Do they walk a lot of batters? 2. Do they give up a lot of home runs?; 3. Is their WHIP under 1.4? Much better indicators of performance than SI.
