metalbat13 Joined: 01/18/2016 Posts: 60 Inactive	Since the conclusion of the 2025 regular season, new Pensacola owner/GM Milo Metalbat has released 42 different players. Of the 50 players on the Hippos' current major & minor league rosters, only 18 (6 ML batters, 5 ML pitchers, and 7 minor leaguers) were members of the organization at the end of the 2025 season. Does anyone know the record for the most player releases by one team in a single season?

Haselrig Joined: 04/13/2014 Posts: 2790 Novi Doubledays III.4	Probably not all that uncommon for that many moves from a new owner if the roster is in really bad shape and your waiver luck only yields guys who are micro-upgrades over what you have. You just have to keep churning the roster until you get a decent team.

punkska Joined: 01/10/2016 Posts: 13 Inactive	A miscount or two either way I'm up to 92 since Jan 15th 2026. Pretty sure the odd player has been released twice so it depends whether you're counting unique players or total releases.

newtman Joined: 11/02/2013 Posts: 3343 Inactive	I'm glad I'm not in the same league as you, I like to use the league notes to track opponents' acquisitions, those huge numbers of moves make that nearly impossible.
