ok did my breakdown,
POS-Draft/Wavier
Pitching
4S-3/1
4R-0/4
Position Players
Quality 3-0/3
Players 8-1/7
Ben,Rok 5-1/4

AAA
3Sp,2B
4-4/0
AA
3Sp,2Rp,C,OF
7-5/2
A
3Sp,2Rp,DH,1B,SS,2OF
10-5/5
Rookie

4-1/3

Got team with a lot of old talent that I let go, until I looked at this though I had no idea how much I depended on waivers. Bot teams need to draft and not destroy there minor leaguers.

I build my team from waivers and draft and keep the good draft picks

My team was built through waivers. Over half my line-up and a good chunk of my pitching staff were waiver acquisitions that came up through the minors. But that was back before search-by-potential (I'm not ragging on search-by-potential - it's a good feature). It is much more difficult now.

My current minors are 15 draft 6 waivers. Of the 6 waivers 4 are 12 pot guys destined for low leverage positions (DH, C, relief P). Waivering a future SS is going to take a lot of determination and more than a little luck. :)

Yeah, my SS prospects are generally draft picks. That is the hardest position to get, and also the one I am the most lenient with from a hitting perspective.

In the last 5 years (since Steve started keeping track at least), I've kept a total of 5 prospects. A POT 13 and POT 14 who were just really nice looking OFs. One POT 12 pitcher this year, who is very marginal. And two SS prospects (POT 13 and POT 14).

23 players in my minors
4 AAA / 2P
10AA / 5P
5 A / 3P
4 Rookie / 1 P

positions (projected, not actual)
11 P

12 NP
2 C
1 1B
2 2B
1 SS
0 3B
4 OF
1 DH
1 1B/DH

I think i'm pretty deep with P, in the first seasons i could not find decent ones, in the last 3-4 seasons instead i found a lot of them.

As for position players, i don't have a 3B (but my starter is 21 and the replacement is 27 so there's no hurry) and i'd like to find a CF for next season (the only OF who can play CF is 24, no one in the lower minors).

of my 23 minor leaguers, only 1 was acquired via waivers, the others have been drafted by me.

I feel like I have enough pitchers in the pipeline to sustain the team. But filling out the spring training roles ... Going to have to use 3-4 fully trained ML pitchers to fill out spots. :s

I wish I was in that spot. I have too many young pitchers and they are all horrible, so I can't decide which ones to give up on...
