MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | Mesh, I think you're right; he has a good shot at being a playable second baseman. If forced, he could go to short. He has a couple things going for him. He's a lefty bat and his power could get him into the low 600s OPS. Also, in one quick minor league game he stole a base. If he is a theft threat, he may be able to steal a few runs each season, too. For me this time around, it was basically the same as it has been most of the season--a prospect almost worthy of keeping, but not quite. He's a 13 potential pitcher, unfortunately it's clear that 104 or 105 is most likely his ceiling based on his full report. A guy who is likely to issue lots of free passes and give up homers isn't a good mix. It's rare that I immediately discard 13 pitchers, but that's the case this time. Also, 8 of my 10 options had either "never be a decent hitter" or bad control. Only one, the guy I picked, was a good potential. Ugly bunch this round. Still, someone might pick him up. The other 9 were definitely garbage. |
