We feel your pain, Tiger. Rebuilding/retooling makes for a long season.

6 of 9 hitters were 26 or younger. Average age of the starting pitching was 24. Whole roster averages 26.

Really happy with the training improvements. Looking forward to next season already.

We had our retooling season last season, wasn't pretty. Made an awful start this season and were in fifth place after fifty games, at 21-29, but turned it around and finished second.

Couldn't hit anything out of the gate, around .220 through the early season, but were up to .265 by season's end. Our 188 HR were the most we've hit since 207 in my rookie season of 2026, and that lineup was loaded, so outlook is good there. Five different players hit at least 20 homers (I've cut one since).

Pitching was outstanding early season (2.30 ERA) but regressed as I gave FIVE youngsters playing time to 4.01 by the end. Ten of my pitching staff will be 28 or younger, and only two of those are 12 POTs - everyone else is 13-15.

Average age of the majors roster is just 26.3, and although I have more youngsters coming through we look to have established a foundation of good players which will serve us well in the seasons to come. Spent several seasons patching my lineup with vets and not giving the kids a chance, but eventually bit the bullet last season and I expect it'll pay dividends from now on. Always aware of tempting fate, but the future looks bright here.

After a miserable season in II.2, I was determined to add some sluggers to my line-up. I was very active in preseason waivers and grabbed Dirk Carter 27 OF (20 claims), Ricky Ulrich 34 OF (15 claims) and Sergio Galvez C 33 (27 claims) to bolster my line-up. Carter saw limited action as a back up but Galvez (All-Star) and Ulrich played full-time and both are candidates for all-league honors.

I also landed Jerry Wood 29 P (39 claims) and youngster Teshuan Vernon 20 P (66 claims). Wood was an all-star going 10 and 1 to start the season.

Speaking of age ... my 32 y/o SP1 Luis Guardado had another all-star/all league season and earned his 100th win and another season's worth of playing time. 27 y/o SPs Cowan and Jacob were also selected all-stars along with 30 y/o closer Luis Saez. Overall my staff was very, very strong with the biggest surprise being 25 y/o Rookie stud Sang Hoon Jo who went 14 and 8 with a top 10 ERA and a league leading WHIP.

Our pitching is all set for the next couple of seasons, especially with late season call-up Glen Hyatt (23 y/o, 14 pot) ready for the big leagues.

Hitting was a huge improvement over last season, due in part to the above mentioned Galvez and Ulrich, but also due to Doug Carlton's rebound from a very forgettable 2031 to a possible MVP award in 2032. Also Trent Guy finally grew up. I couldn't wait to get this guy into the lineup when he first came up, his numbers looked so good ... and boy, did he disappoint. Four plus years of disappointment saw him on the verge of rage-cuts a dozen times. Last season he was my best hitter, this season he was significantly better than that, only over-shadowed by Carlton's (possible) MVP season.

Additional waiver's glory was achieved on the final day of waivers when Archibald Lee P 25 110SI was claimed over 74 others.

Which is balanced out but the worst draft class in Titan's history. Only one player was kept, a 13 pot defensive specialist that will most likely get cut before making it to AAA.

All in all, a very satisfying season: franchise record for wins (110), a record number of Titan's selected to the All-Star Game (8, including 5 of 6 pitchers), a top 15 ranking in all of BB, advancing back to II.2, an outstanding class of free-agents and some tantalizing glimpses at possible future greatness with pitchers Jo and Hyatt.

The only real disappointments, not winning the playoffs, and getting bounced from Cup Play in the first elimination round, and waiver claim Enrique Venegas (12 claims) not panning out AT ALL; 1 and 3 in 53 IP with an ERA of 6.62 and a WHIP of 1.679!!! YUCK!!

Congrats to Favus and the Roanoke Orioles for besting us 4 games to 1.

I had a different experience for this season.

I started with one team and then the Boston team became a bot team and was available. I asked Steve if I could switch teams. He switched me over.

My new team, Boston, is in the early part of a total rebuild. Most of the players on the major league roster were very old and of much declining skills. I even had some players near or over 40 on the roster. I had several players like that. I think I only had 2 or 3 players under 30.

The rebuild will continue for several seasons. I like my progress so far but there is much much to do.

But I am happy with my new team. I live in New England. When I started with Broken Bat in 2016 one idea that I had was to learn a little bit from my starter team and keep an eye on the Boston team in case it became available. So I when I was able to switch to Boston after learning a little bit about the game, I was very happy!

@Garnash: I had T. Vernon last. Maybe he'll turn into something useful, but I've seen enough fastball-primary lefties with stats like that (despite the nice GB/FB) to not invest too heavily. Best wishes...

2032 overall went very well for Roanoke.

Very close competition in our division, Grand Blanc got relegated with 83 wins, with this record in the west he'd arrive 2nd.

We made very well in division games (60-40) less in the interleague, but at last we won the division, and then against all odds we won the championship.

Hitting was good as always, my core bats are at their peak, lot of doubles and triples as usual, few HR, a little too few walks, but we really can't complain.

Fielding above average as always, can't complain.

Pitching was my main concern, we hold on but we surely could do better.

FA: no great needs, we searched for a Loogy, took one in FA but he failed and was cut as soon as Castro went up.

Draft: good year, a couple of great pitching prospects (Little and Diaz), a 14 pot without hitting report and a 13 pot defensive specialist, we'll keep him until we find someone better.

Promotions: 3 good pitching prospects (Carlson and Davila can become good starters, Castro is perfect for Lefty specialist role), Jenkins in 2B started hot then slowed down but for a full rookie year in league III he did decently, position is covered for years. Segui can be a good DH against lefties, let's see how he develops.

Cuts: we cut old time SS and 3B backups (Pratt and Bustamante), our closer who played horribly(Boyd), aging 5th starter (McGuire). At the start of the next season we'll cut Palacios and Ontivaros, Ball is ready in AAA to take their place in the middle infield when necessary. I got a lot of roster space for acquisition in 2033 :D

Cup: the only real disappointment of the season; as always we won our group in a landslide and then lost in 1st round to a league V-VI team. It's a trend from last years, hope to change that next year :D

@lostraven - this is why I'm willing to give Vernon a shot. Granted, he's got a long way to go, at the moment, and 'only' a 13 pot, but I'll give him another season or two to progress.

When you have the Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and Rookie Pitcher of the Year winners, and win 113 games...and come second. Man.

Coming into the season I felt the Dinos had a champion caliber lineup and bullpen. The starting rotation was a mess tho.

I figured retooling Birmingham would fall off last season's win total (not as much as they did tho). Didn't think Alexandria was a 95-100 win squad. So the plan was to develop some young starting pitchers in the first half, and hopefully be competitive in the second.

The plan didn't work tho. While Greer, Knepper and Sammy all added a nice chunk of SI, by mid-season only Greer was playable. Starts 3 & 4 (Knepper and Sammy) of each 5 game interleague series were next to automatic losses.

Started the final 50 5-6 games back of Alexandria and as the de facto competition. Decided to give it a go. Banished Knepper, Sammy, and a few other poorly performing young players to AAA.

Made it interesting. Actually slipped into 1st for 1 overnight, but a late fade did Waterloo in.

Got a great season from Hardy. Didn't expect him to be healthy or good, and he was both. Greene was also great in his last march.

Zarate, who has been a very good player for a number of years finally got some recognition with an all-star and all-league. McCarty quietly put up some nice numbers, and surprised me by finishing 2nd in MVP voting.

It was a fun season. But I'd hoped the starting rotation would have really taken shape, and if anything, I feel more apprehensive about it moving into 2033.
