I can't really see carrying all four, none of which have a great positional future (wrong hand for 1B on all of them, range too low for my liking in LF) even if the rest of my minors is almost all 12 pot). Who would you cut, or would you hang on to all 4 a bit longer to see who develops quickest? Updated Saturday, July 29 2017 @ 10:09:49 pm PDT |

I wouldn't go by his spring numbers since they are such a small sample, so essentially he is untested. Very nice scouting report. I would be ok putting him in LF in a pinch, but he should do fine at 1B even though he is a righty. I would have no problem putting Turner in LF. That is probably where he should be given your surplus, his fielding ability and his handedness. His GB/FB isn't looking to good right now, but he has shown some speed on the bases which is nice. I'd definitely hold on to him for at least one more year to see if his GB/FB improves (or if he continues to hit HRs regardless). What do you have his steal settings at right now? I'd pump him up to ++ and see what he can do. Koch probably shouldn't be in the OF. He also has some SI wasted in fielding. Still could be a decent 1B prospect given his tendency to hit the ball up. Sharp would be bottom of my barrel just because he is a POT 12 with some fielding ability (wasted SI). However he is a left handed batter which is nice, and he is very well developed for his age. This is a guy who could be on the major league team in a couple years. I would hang onto him because he is a pretty safe bet and will be well timed to bridge between your current 1Bs and the younger guys coming up. Updated Sunday, July 30 2017 @ 12:11:44 am PDT |

If he had developed the last two seasons AT ALL, would've been different. His scouting line was really a trap, but I didn't have a crystal ball to know he'd go +3 pts in a full season of AAA, then a -1 pt in his first season in the bigs. I just called Collins up from AAA, so I'm going to see if he develops at all this season before giving him the axe ... he'll probaly have the same issue as Pena, not enough lefty pitchers to get enough ABs... if nothing else, he'll keep Alonso from embarrassing himself against lefty pitchers. Also, my 2nd round pick didn't help the log jam: http://brokenbat.org/player/160094 Was the only very good prospect, and the one "good" one was another right hander, with atrocious fielding in his scout line. Hopefully he can pick up 1B fairly quickly in the minors, if Collins end up getting the axe. So now 5 righty meh D guys lol. Updated Saturday, August 5 2017 @ 9:28:59 pm PDT |
