More often than not, it seems that when I score, there is a high probability that I'll be giving up at least one run the in the next half inning. It happens when I'm the second to score, too, but seemingly less often. Has anyone else paid any attention to shutdown innings? Maybe it doesn't happen as much as I think, but it sure seems like it happens almost every time. Might be a cool percentage to see on a pitcher's stat line, but may be difficult to track. | ||

I think it is Small Sample Size + Luck + (to a certain extent) Quality of pitching and defense. My pitching and defense are light years better than they were 14 seasons ago and my shutdown innings following a score have increased apace. |
