Like, through every team’s histories (except for the Maple League and PAC-12 League). Here are a few noteworthy things I came up with: » Best single season win record: Augusta Trojans — 131 (2001) » Most 100+ win seasons: North Brunswick Ninjas — 13 (2001-2008, 2011, 2016, 2019, 2027, 2032) » Most consecutive 100+ win seasons:North Brunswick Ninjas — 8 (2001-2008) » Best second place season win record: Bradenton Yankees — 117 (2020) » Most 100+ win second place seasons: Deerfield Beach Rats — 7 (2001, 2021-2023, 2025-2026, 2033) » Most consecutive 100+ win second place seasons: Deerfield Beach Rats — 3 (2021-2023) Also worth mentioning is one I wasn’t necessarily specifically looking for but did stumble across: The 2007 Antioch Aliens team had 104 wins and finished third. (And yes, I realize that a lot of these teams had different names when some of this happened. I’m using the current team name for the sake of simplicity.) |

There have been eight MLB second place finishes with 100+ wins, with the Dodgers being the only team to have had it happen twice. The Deerfield Beach Rats have almost as many 100+ win second place finishes on their own, and in barely a fourth as many seasons. x.@

newtman Joined: 11/02/2013 Posts: 3343 Inactive | Here's a challenge for the researcher: how many of those 100+ win seasons finishing 2nd happened in LL V or higher? LL VI accounts for half the pyramid, but I bet it accounts for far more than half of the 100+ win 2nd place finishes.

I’m sure that’s the case of the overwhelming majority of 100+ win second place finishes. I may dedicate a day later this week to another archive binge, as it were.
