Ithaca, NY.- Ithaca Titans will open his third season in this beautiful city, being here for the last two seasons, former Greensville Tigers and Cape Coral Warriors/Titans, the team is now notable by the fans.

Last season the team established a new wins record, 92, eclipsing the previous of 85 that was set in 2003. The team also won 36 more games than previous season, despite they had to release many players including the star Christian Salas, and just sign some free agents without work to replace them.

This season seems that the team will repeat, as only four players left, this time not for economic reasons but for their performance in the terrain.

Three new players will be in the big team, pitchers Lance Tyler (US) and Ignacio Viciedo (DR), the first will be a new starter of the rotation and the second will be in the bullpen. The third player is Cruz Cueto (PR) who will be playing as LF if the team faces a lefty, or as a ph.

The first season league game is always an unanswered question, but the manager let the last year sensation, Francisco Clemente (DR) 17-6, to answer it. As for the Cup, even they will take part, it is not for interest now for the team, nor the fans, they now the team can't fight yet the richer and higher ranked teams of the system.

Will be the team able to repeat last year performance? Will the team battle this time for the tittle? The manager is a little cautious and just want a great season with a third position. "We had troubles in the past, and mostly for our struggled economy, gladly Ithaca governor accepted our proposal to move the team, and that seems to start a new era for us. In our first season here we had to cut our budget for 6 million dollars, and the last season the salary budget was reduced again by 2 millions more, but the good news is that we had a surplus of 8 million dollars and that allowed to resign our last year roster almost entirely and increase the stadium capacity for 10,000 more seats. This year our team is more experienced and we hope to have a better season in terms of league position than the last one." That were the owner words, Krakonico.

This was posted also in our page:

Ithaca, N.Y.- Today we are officially announce the retiring of two players who impacted our team in the time they were playing, first we are going to talk to Ithaca's icon Jay Lester, and a player who signed just to fill a void, but took the spot and he entered the fan's hearts, Felix Santiago.

Jay Lester: April 5th, 2005 was the day Jay Lester was found in the draft, he had passion and a fire, but one year later his team wanted to make space to another player and he was cut, believing that he was unable to fulfill his potential. He spent almost four months trying to get another chance and was found by Greensville Tigers (now Ithaca Titans).

His first year he played directly in the big roster, and in 43 games he showed what he was capable of. He had a 15 years career in the team, the longest of any player, and also have many records that will perdure until a better player would attempt to break.

He has the total hits with 1,656, and the closest active player has only 1,031 in the 5th position, also in the runs scored he has 893, he is the second in RBIs with 676, being passed this year by Omar "The Machine" Padilla. Also Lester is the top thief with 464 stolen bases in his career, although his best year was 2013 with 53.

Jay Lester career was like the following:
  • Total Games: 2,033
  • AB: 6,115
  • Runs: 893
  • Hits: 1,656
  • Extra Bases: 527
  • RBIs: 676
  • 2017 Golden Glove in League VI.17.

Felix Santiago: The veteran player joined Ithaca in 2017, he played five years at the club, and even he was a natural 2B, he was assigned the SS position due to his great defensive skills. He had an average of 132 games per season, 488 AB, 62 Runs, 114 hits, 28 doubles, 8 triples, 9 HRs, 60 RBIs, etc. At the defense he showed the following, 307 Double plays, FP as SS 0.961, and as incredible that the year with most errors was the year he won his only Golden Glove

Days ago, but still in the news zone:

Insane?

Ithaca, N.Y.- Today the General Manager of the team went rampaging about the last results of the team and in a abrupt spark he fired several players including the almost entire pitching squad. Only two pitchers were left, future hall of fame Lance Tyler and Toni Lara.

Several minor leagues players were also sacked, as their report weren't satisfactory to the GM's standard. Catchers Ivan Zavala and Cruz MiƱoso decided to resign, as now the team was not the same and probably wont stay at the level they think they deserve.

The GM was unavailable to answer some questions, and the player's president didn't want to talk to the press.
