This guy's season is over.
If I park him down in AAA for the rest of the season, will he lose out on any potential training he could gain by being on the Majors roster?

He has already faced 43 batters this period. You will lose out on that experience if you put him in AAA. And at 27 he probably won't gain much if any training in AAA either. I would definitely leave him up unless you need the slot for another guy. He is pretty close to maxed if not already maxed for his SI anyhow.

How can you tell how many batters he has faced this period?

View you Statistics, and then click on the "Latest" button at the bottom of the screen.

The stats and Form values are based on the some set previous number of PA/IP.

The PA (plate appearances), BF (batters faced), and DIS (Defensive Innings) show for the current training period. PA and BF are used to determine how much experience (effecting all ratings that improve including fielding) a player gets. DIS is used to determine how much position experience a player gets.

Notice that a DH will not gain Position experience, but will gain Fielding experience.
