Got 12 open spots on the roster, only 4 major leagues though. Could be an issue because a decent amount of my claims are on older guys. Gonna need some help if I want to succeed at this higher level. Want to get all the young rookies playing time but don’t know if I should. Probably going to get demoted but I really don’t know if I should put up a fight or just play the young guys and accept the demotion.

in my experience, if i want to not relegate, i try to play at max 2 rookies in the lineup and 2 pitchers.

First year is almost always hard for them, but if they are good they have to play, or they will not reach their potential.

If i were you i would wait to throw the towel, you see how the first 50 games go with the best team you can field, you can always rebuild for the next season later in the season.
Overland last year won 59 games, Cedar Rapids is a bot team, I have almost the same team of last year, so you should not think already about relegation.

I thought i got lucky with Dill , but Rever won the offseason already with Portillo and Blom. Luckily they play in the other division...

Tyler is ready to give it another go. So glad not to have Temple here again this year. My memory says they lead almost wire to wire. At least now maybe we all have a fair fighting chance to promote this season. Tyler just needs to find some hitting somewhere but so far our waiver luck has been abysmal.
Good luck to all this season.

Still 5 claims left on the board, 4 of them Hail Marys with 30+ claims. Other is Ratliff, always looking to steal a player from a division rival. He’s currently got 2 on him including me, hope I win the toss up. Haven’t done much on waivers yet but the good news is the guys I did get, http://brokenbat.org/player/342284
Theo is doing solid, hope he eventually goes up to 12, if he does he’s probably a keeper. Very happy with how Olivarez did this first series,

He should definitely be a keeper, he’s a very good all around hitter.

Camacho has looked great in the first 3 games, glad he’s not going to waste I wasn’t ecstatic about him being the best on my board in the third round last year. Hope he goes up to 12.

Got a lot of young guys coming up this year so I guess it’s good that I didn’t land any guys who are already ready to play majors. Excited to see how the rookies do, this year will likely be a tank to evaluate the future of this team.

I'm pretty much trotting the same team out there. It was almost enough last season...

Good luck to everyone and have fun!

We also changed very little this season.

Lineup VS LHP is the same (we went 40-22 last year so no complains), we have tweaked something against RHP.

I have not many concerns about the lineup, they should carry their weight.

Pitching is another whole story.

Last year we got a decent rotation and an horrible bullpen, this year it's basically the same, without a good starter which retired.

we got a bit lucky on waivers for hitters but nothing on pitchers, so we've got to resolve the issue internally. Promoted Goss on the rotation, hopefully he repeats his minors numbers now that he's fully developed. We got two rookies in middle relief, let's hope they don't suffer too much.

If our pitching can handle the league, we have a fairly chance to repeat last season (to not relegate with relative ease) otherwise we'll have a tough season ahead of us.

Will see.

GL to all for the season and for the first draft, i hope you guys find what you are searching for personally i'll go for infielders, biggest needs in the minors are SS and 3B.

Seasons over. We’re throwing in the towel. Seriously though, our bullpen needs some SERIOUS help.

Doing better than expected after those awful first two series. Got swept by Tyler in the opening series, then we just got revenge with a sweet 3-1 series win. Hiramatsu http://brokenbat.org/player/311073 and Jones http://brokenbat.org/player/277688 are playing like all stars right now, I love it. Kay http://brokenbat.org/player/324294 despite how bad he looks on paper, always somehow finds a way to succeed. I don’t know how he does it. Same with Barraza http://brokenbat.org/player/296753 he’s looked like an ace ever since we picked him up. Bowie http://brokenbat.org/player/325732 and Whitson http://brokenbat.org/player/325870 the rookies, have performed well this season. Also just called up Bair http://brokenbat.org/player/333189 still looking for his first hit. Reyes http://brokenbat.org/player/249950 29 away from 3000! For sure his last year. He holds most of our records. I’ve been impressed by the success of our young team. Might be able to stay another year. 4th or 5th is most likely, but wouldn’t rule out 3rd since Tyler is on a mega cold stretch. We’ll see how this pans out and good luck to everyone!
