Possible cause: Harrington has spent his entire career in VI.7, Holland has not. It’s possible that Holland’s position on the list is being calculated from the stats he accumulated in VI.7, but the average displayed is his overall career average, including time spent in other leagues. |

newtman Joined: 11/02/2013 Posts: 3343 Inactive | Odd, normally when players are out of order like that it is due to one or more not having enough qualifying ABs or IP, in which case his position on the list is re-calculated for where he would be if enough ABs or IP were added to put him on the list. That isn't the case here though, as both guys have over a thousand ABs more than the minimum to get on the career list. | ||

admin Joined: 01/27/2010 Posts: 4985 Administrator | The issue is that in 2001 and 2002, the league identifier was not included with statistics records. So Neil Holland was actually below the minimum At Bats (3000 ABs), but still had enough hits to qualify for 2nd place. If I add in the league identifier in manually, then this batting average reflects his entire time in the league. Of course, it's impossible to do this for all players retroactively. Steve |
