How'd you come up with the 13 and 10? That's not what I counted. I got 8 and 11. Add the 8 strikeouts and that's 27.

@Mike, look at the pitcher's line on the game box score.

@jon, My guess is that it categorized some strikeouts as other things as well. This could be possible with a foul tip or other such circumstances, but it might be nice to see it fixed.

I've never paid any attention to that. Apparently most games don't add up correctly. I understand there low ones can be due to double plays. I have no idea on the one that are too high, though.

I usually don't but with a complete game it was easy to spot.

Ground balls and fly balls aren't ground outs and fly outs

Exactly, GBs are both hits and outs. FBs are both hits and outs. Additionally line drives (not shown in GB-FB) can be hits or outs. You have 8 hits to account for as well as the 27 outs. A total of 35. So there were 8 Ks, 13 ground balls, 10 fly balls, and apparently 4 line drives.

Game in question

Yes, GB-FB 13-10 doesn't just include outs.

Steve, are infield flies and foul balls counted as FBs, or are they another uncounted category?

Pop outs are definitely fly balls. A foul out can be too. If you foul off a pitch into the stands or is not caught – it counts as a strike, but nothing more…not a fly ball.

Thanks. So are line drives the only type of hit/out that doesn't count towards either a fly ball or a ground ball?
