I just saw our pull pen give up 5 runs in one inning after Duffy had a great start. They faced 11 batters and there was only like 3 or 4 hits in the inning

Solid start to the season with 2 comeback wins, with one coming off of Lindor's first career grand slam. Speaking of which, could that guy be MVP this year? It's ridiculous how well he plays at such a young age (not to say that he doesn't make young mistakes sometimes but he's still pretty amazing). I'm really excited to see this team over the course of 162 games.

I don't expect them to make the playoffs, but I wouldn't be shocked if they do either. If I was forced to put a number to it, I'd probably say they have a 20% chance.

Safety of the players? Hey, all for it as long as it doesn’t go completely overboard. Replay? Eh, not a huge fan of it, but I appreciate the effort to make sure the right call gets made. Automatically sending a batter to first on an intentional walk? [*Censored*] no. Make the pitcher and catcher actually throw the ball around a bit. Weird things happen when the ball is in play — wild pitch, catcher not paying enough attention to the runner on third, pitch gets a little closer to the plate than intended, and so forth. Just sending a guy to first with a wave takes the fundamental element of chance out of the equation. I never thought I would say this, but I already miss Selig. Being right more often can't be wrong. Intentional walk. Who really cares? It saves on average something like 30 seconds a game. If they implement the extra innings thing, that will be stupid. Not allowing the use of tobacco during a game? Fantastic. |

Soler looks completely lost at the plate, which is not very good when you're a DH. Doh! Surely there's a better available bat out there somewhere. The combination of Moss/Cuthbert/Soler at DH is absolutely horrible. Updated Thursday, July 6 2017 @ 5:48:07 am PDT |

The WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWindians are at it again, as they defeated the Orioles 3-2 for their 18th straight (against Hellickson, ironically enough @Cactusguy21). How long do you guys think this streak will continue? And speaking of streaks, the Dodgers have now lost 10 in a row, as well as 15 out of their last 16. Will they be able to right the ship in time for the postseason? Updated Sunday, September 10 2017 @ 8:49:59 pm PDT Updated Sunday, September 10 2017 @ 8:50:14 pm PDT |

admin Joined: 01/27/2010 Posts: 5035 Administrator ![]() | Enjoying the 2017 playoffs...but I have to say, I really don't like the one game wildcard playoff game. One game just isn't really sufficient to determine the better team. Would rather have fewer teams in the playoffs (maybe 4 instead of 5) and not have a one game wildcard playoff. For example, the Twins didn't even get a home playoff game. They went and lost at Yankee Stadium...they were hardly in the playoffs before they were out. Steve |

It's pure madness, nerves, mayhem and fun. At least that's the intention, I think, and I have to say I buy into it. Yes, it's silly, but it's exciting. Also, I believe part of the rationale is they don't want to create too many off days for the other teams waiting in the playoffs. Besides, let's face it, two out of three isn't really much better in deciding who is better. |

Its also the final huwwah for the 2 teams in getting into the REAL playoffs. It isnt intended to decide who the better team is, its intended for love sweat and HOME RUNS. |
