Each league champion could play in a 32 team tournament much like the world classic. This tournament could be the Cup classic or something. Just a thought. |

It would be a radical change to remove it. Right now, for example, games are potentially important right to #160 regardless of your league position. A fight to avoid relegation can be just as intriguing as the battle for first. In your proposed system, the majority of the teams would be playing unimportant games for big chunks of the season. What should managers be thinking for ballpark size this coming season? Should most everyone have a 40k seat stadium? Should teams be following the current recommendations in the Rules? Will the recommendations in the Rules be updated when the changes go Live? |

That would allow for more long-term rivalries to develop and set that league apart from the lower leagues a bit. There should be more perks for getting there. | ||

The easiest way to do it though would be to make it a 40 team league with four divisions of ten. That way you are still promoting/demoting the same number of teams. A built in added perk that only one team per Legend division would be demoted. Or I guess you could do 30 teams and just demote the four with the worst records. |

Isn't the prestige of playing in the top league a perk? What does doubling or tripling the size of the league do to that prestige? How does a larger, less intimate league lead to greater rivalries? Not facing the same teams? Look at Legends West. THB - 4 of last 4 seasons Applewood - 4 of last 4 Burlington - 3 of last 4 Las Vegas - 3 of last 4 San Francisco - 3 of last 4 Why should your chance of being demoted be 1 of 3 in lower leagues, but 1 of 7 in the top league? What does any of this have to do with the economy? Why do I ask so many questions? |

I have lots of rivalries (4 of the 5 teams in my division this season are teams I've played before). 1/2 the league either promoting or demoting usually makes it interesting regardless of whether you are at the top or the bottom. Either way, I don't see how league restructuring relates to attendance & the economy. |
