Maybe you noticed the flurry of activity on the italian forum recently.

That's because Team Italy is born!

It's a new concept in BrokenBat: a franchise managed by the joint effort of the users on the italian forum with the purpose of providing a team, and development, to BrokenBat's italian players. The ultimate goal being to have Italy's National Team to play in the World Classic (as in real life!)

The project has just staryed, so there's no more details to share.
Updates will follow!

Hope this pan's out, as the owner of the top player for that national team I would love to see him get some recognition.

How nice!

It'd be cool to see him playing on the National Team before the end of his career.

I'm afraid, that's not realistic though.

It will be cool once your able to phase out all the non-Italian players.

Any reason you are keeping all those non-Italian guys in your minors? I would have thought your goal would be just to get as much dev time for the Italian players as possible. You could always pick up journeymen for fillers when needed.

As an owner in Valdosta's league, it will be a very interesting to watch this experiment pan out in front of my own eyes. And having an Italian-American on my roster, you have some local support!
Best of luck, can't wait to face off again next season!

The Valdosta city choice was great.

When I first read this thread, they were the Vikings, which seemed ... not quite right. I read through the nicknames and thought - gah, maybe Stallions? Hmmm.

Maybe you folks are happy with that. But I'm petitioning Admin to give you another option - Centurions, Legionaires, Senators, Phalanx ...

Myself would favor Gladiators.

But as a new nickname requires a new mascot logo, and I cannot do that, I don't dare to ask ;)

Stallions is cool: reminds me of Rocky Balboa (which in turn is NOT an Italian name at all, portuguese rather)

Even Valdosta is not quite right: the region's name is Valdaosta
(Valley of Aosta)

In the off season we will look to other options: Rome, Milan, Venice (beach), Siena, are all better options.

Traffic is low on the italian forum right now: vacation time in Italy!
Nobody's home ;)
Will get steam in September, I hope.

if you can give this player any playing time, keep him.
if you don't need him, then cut him.

Team Italy is not a competitive squad, its purpose is to develop Italian players for the national team playing in the World Classic.
We provide playing time for the worst players, if they can plays elsewhere that's perfectly fine with us ;)

Depends, there are ~190 country flags currently to learn. I doubt the majority of kindergartners have them all memorized... I taught 3rd graders who didn't know them all.
