Jul 16 2032: 2032 All-Star Break - by Pig_Cola on June 22nd, 2017

Glendale, AZ- The Marshals sit 42-38 right now at the All-Star break with a very good showing in inter-league. "We were struggling a bit in the beginning, but we came around," skipper Braydon Gable said to reporters. Currently, the team has a BA of .251 and an ERA of 3.89, which is much better than last season. When we changed our ballpark, we focused on making it a good place to pitch for our pitchers and they are performing well at home.

One of our biggest concerns coming into the All-Star break is power. We are currently third to last in HR's hit. "We need to have power hitters come to the team. We can't win games just on getting walks. We need to have guys who can hit the ball over the fence," GM Pig_Cola said.

The second half of season should be very good based off the performance the Marshals gave us in the first half. "I felt really good in the first half of the season. I was a little disappointed when we went on a slump to end the first third of the season. I really thought we might've relegated at some point," 1B Jeff Dolan said.

"Another part of the team we need to work on is the bullpen. I can't say how many times I was infuriated when I looked at the boxscore of a game or when I was there at the game and I see a Marshal reliever give up runs in the eighth, ninth, or innings beyond to lose the game. We would probably be in a much better place if our bullpen can actually get outs," Pig_Cola told reporters. The teams' bullpen has blown 14 saves in 32 opportunities, which most of those come from closer Hector Borrego. "I know I could've made better pitches to the opposing batter to prevent blown saves and losses in the late innings of a game," Borrego said to reporters.

We also have our 2032 All-Stars to put in today's press release:

2B/SS Masahito Matsuda (2nd appearance)
SP Kraig Ruff (1st appearance)

"It was an amazing experience to be a part and I even got to start the All-Star game as well," Ruff said. "It was another great experience for me to be in my second All-Star game. There's always a great atmosphere when you enter the All-Star ballpark," Matsuda told reporters through a translator.

May 01 2031: Sad Day For The Marshals - by Pig_Cola on March 16th, 2017

Glendale, AZ- Today, long time pitchers Santiago Saenez and Jim Lane have been released. "It was tough, but it had to be done," GM Pig_Cola said to the media after the team's 5-2 win over Ashland earlier. "When I heard the news, I was in shock. I thought I was going to finish my career with the Marshals," Lane said. Lane was asked a few more questions, but couldn't answer because he was very distraught and shocked. When Saenez was asked the same questions, he simply responded with, "You need to be prepared for this moment. It can come at any time".

The team also released 1B/OF Rich McCarty because of his inconsistent performance this season.

"We wish the best for Santiago, Jim, and Rich and hope that they will be signed by a team," Roberto Puente said to media.

Jul 16 2030: 2030 All Star Break - by Pig_Cola on January 19th, 2017

Chandler, AZ- It has been an interesting first half of the season for the Marshals. They are 21-13 at home, but 17-29 on the road. "I'm sure we'll be having a lot more home games in the next half of the season," Puente said. The Marshals play has been decent, especially at home. "We were emphasizing the performance at home, but now we're not doing as good on the road, but it's harder on the roader," Pig_Cola said.

The offense on this team has improved greatly. The team is hitting .257 and .292 at home. "Everyone is hitting very well at home this year," Puente said. "We might need to make the walls the same height and bring the walls in for next season," Pig_Cola said. Matsuda is having a career regarding hitting. He is hitting .304 with 7 HR's and 33 RBI's. "I'm doing very good this season. In previous seasons, I struggled very much especially hitting the ball, so I think the ballpark has really helped me this season," Matsuda said through a translator.

The pitching has had some bright spots this year. Right now, the team ERA is 4.31, but at home, it's 4.62. Peralta has been the only starter performing, but Tanaka has had a decent ERA since joining the Marshals. The pitcher that has been performing the best is reliever Hector Borrego. He is 9-0 with 2 saves and a 2.67 ERA. "I'm been succeeding this year because I've embraced my role," Borrego said. Raul Valdivia has been demoted from starter to the teams set-up man. "I'm a bit disappointed, but I understand that I wasn't performing to my abilities. I also understand that I give up too many home runs when a I start games," Valdivia said.

We also had decent representation in the All Star game this year:

2B Matsuda
DH Gallardo
SP Peralta
RP Borrego.

Borrego was the only Mashal to play in the All Star game for us. "It was an unbelievable experience to play in the All Star game", he said.

May 17 2030: Vera Released - by Pig_Cola on January 3rd, 2017

Chandler, AZ- Today long-time Marshal/Long Horn Enrique Vera was cut. "It was a tough decision, but we need to get Valdivia back on track and we also got Norm Tanaka off of waivers to start for Valdivia," GM Pig_Cola stated to reporters. "I enjoyed my time here and was glad to be a part of this great organization," Vera said.

Enrique Vera leaves the Long Horns with a 117-126 record and a career 3.76 ERA with 2,060.2 innings pitched. Enrique is fourth in all time career wins, third in all time innings pitched, second in all time career strikeouts, and 10th in all time career ERA.

"Vera will be missed quite a bit. He was a solid part of the bullpen since 2027," manager Roberto Puente said.

Mar 25 2030: 2030 Season Preview - by Pig_Cola on December 20th, 2016

Chandler, AZ- The 2030 season is near the Marshals have a new, upgraded roster. "We have new expectations and better players. We should do much better than last year with all the youngsters having more experience," GM Pig_Cola said.

The offense should be much better with the additions of former Hampton Isotopes star Zach Simpson and Rich McCarty. Hector Gonzalez should be much better along with Jeff Dolan. "I look to perform much better than a .245 BA. I know I can hit much better," Dolan said. Dolan hit .244 in the minors, so there a lot to be desired. DH Ricardo Gallardo looks to continue what he did in 46 games last year. "I can contribute a lot to this offense. This is a talented team that can do some damage," Ricardo said.

The pitching is still the same from last year. The Marshals looked to move Raul Valdivia in the offseason, but were unsuccessful. "I know was being shopped, but I kept my head up and hoped to keep playing for the team," Valdivia said. 36 year old Pierce hopes he still can perform well to stay on the young Marshals roster. "I know I'm almost done. A few bad outings might get me released, but I don't plan to retire just yet," Doug Pierce said.

The BBSN predicts this team to go 75-85 this year, a 31 win improvement from last year. "It'll be great to get to that record after our disastrous season last year. 24 year old catcher Steve Anderson could also get promoted to the bigs this year from Superior (AZ) Kamikazes.
