I was wondering if some changes could be made to the selection process of players for the Classic? I know the Classic kind of doesn't matter, but Kennedy got left off the National Team because I cut him during the off-season. This is a problem for Ireland because he was (and still is) their best position player. Maybe allow guys who are on waivers to be included, since the guys who are good enough to make a National Team are likely to be claimed anyways.

Yes, free agents aren't eligible to be on National Teams for the Classic.

Not that many intriguing round #1 match-up. Maybe the best is Mexico versus Colombia.

USA vs. Russia...the Cold War series perhaps?

I finally have my players in the world classic, two of them to be exact, and... they will face each other. Dominica will probably win and I will root for them and my star outfielder.

I will be rooting again for the US and Ireland because 25 year old Aidan Rooney is on the Irish National Team for his fourth straight year.

Wait, if free agents are eligible, then why did Kennedy get left off the roster? He is still the best hitter and SS among Irish players...

I'll be rooting for Ireland to. It'll be Declan O'Keefe's 3rd NT... which nothing compared to Cornbread Watkin's 8th at age 27.

I have no dog in this fight yet (yay neglected roster!), so I shall default to cheering for Canada. Hey - it was a good idea in 2026, apparently.

I will be rooting for Venezuela after Federico Gonzales was brought back to the pitching staff for a third straight Classic.

Julian Garza was left off of the Mexican roster for the first time since 2021, and that's a bit disappointing.

None of my current waiver targets are on their respective national teams.

I also will be rooting for my homeland of the U.S. and Ireland after a recent trip there. They seem more concerned with rugby, hurling, and Irish and association football, but I am always curious to see how the non-powerhouse European clubs do.

Yeah, I thought I remembered they weren't eligible... but can they be added? I needed the space that Kennedy was taking up, but he should be a major asset for a LL V or VI club for a few more seasons. Would there be a way to get the computer to allow players who were on a team at the waiver deadline the prior season to play in the World Classic?

I'm a little disappointed Park didn't make it on Koreas roster, but then again his career average is .200, he wouldnt be very useful.

Time to root for UK (Wilson) and obviously USA.

Other than Italy, i'll root for teams with my players on their roster so

Cuba (Palacios on his 2nd selection)

Puerto Rico (Ontivaros on his 2nd selection)

Mexico (Rivas on his 1st selection)

I also have Jesus on Portugal roster, but they don't play in the classic yet.

I think all 3 teams have a chancee to win, Mexico more than Cuba and Puerto Rico, but again clear favorites are the USA.

Ireland got eliminated after three games vs Japan.

USA vs Puerto Rico is going to be an interesting matchup.

Yeah...not many upsets in the first round...Taiwan, Colombia and maybe Australia are probably the best teams that got eliminated and they lost to better teams.

Next round has some better match-ups: Mexico @ South Korea and Puerto Rico @ United States. Venezuela @ Dominican Republic could be competitive too.

My young star was the SP in the last decisive match between Venezuela and Dominican Republic

and he took player of the game! Way to go Edgar Bustos representing the team.

Beat me to it.

35-4.

If anyone had the Netherlands with the biggest game differential in terms of RS/RA, you are the only one.

35-4.

Nice when a #7 hitter goes 7-for-8 with 5 runs scored and 10 RBI! Would be nicer if he didn't play for a division rival. :)

Four powerhouses in the finals: USA versus Mexico (loser pays for the wall?) and Cuba versus Japan.

Should be an exciting Thursday of games!

With many ridiculous performances by pitchers, what steps will you be taking to change the default mgr with their pitcher settings?

Great run by the Cinderella Panamanian club.

Semi-Finals are the usual suspects.

Think it's more like 1.5 - 1... game 2 looks a little bit lopsided. :)

That's what happens when a 112 SI pitcher is thrown to the wolves. At least it was in Game 2 and we'll probably see him again.
