Wow, is that pool depleted.

Nothing of note this week. An 'Above Average Potential' - one of two possible choices. He's swimming with the scrubs.

I found a 13 in there. High rolled his speed and range. Would be much more interesting if he were a LHB. Will keep him a couple of days to see if he knows how to steal bases.

Went latin, got the only "good" potential guy, was a 10 pot (with very low fielding and speed tbh), if he were a 12 could have been a wonderful DH, but i cut him

My pool had two good potentials in it...one with "never be a decent hitter" and one with "control will always be lacking."

Went with an above average...C&R. Draft has been good to me this season, so I can't complain.

A questionable 13 for Round 8. Could grow into a base-stealer with average BC and PD at best. IF he were to gain six points a year, he'd only be at 73 SI at age 25. Tons of ifs. Going to hold and see if he can steal bases. If he can, might hold a little longer to see how fast the SI gains will be. The awkward defensive profile doesn't help. On a short leash, particularly since I'm at a full 50-man roster and am looking to cut one or two someones right now.

An interesting way to get that potential with a "good potential". I guess because he's a lefty it makes that defense self-defeating.

I assume CF is the best option for him?

Yeah, pity about that left-handedness. OF for sure, CF of course.

That said, I'd be curious to get some veteran managers' opinions on saying "screw the left-hand penalty" and train him for SS anyway. Fielding will be a minimum of 15, max of 17. Assuming a 16/17/19 F/R/A, could a player like this still provide solid value at SS even with the left-hand penalty?

Wow.. that's an incredible 8th rounder.

Although you can force it into SS, I'm kind of the mind why bother? He's going to be a brute anyway and unless you have FOUR such brutes that you absolutely need to get in the lineup somehow, it would seem that you could get a right handed SS eventually by draft or transfer. You could always train him at SS while he's in the minors - may as well. But I can't see him being anything other than an OF - and a great one at that.

Considering he doesn't show any OF capabilities at this point, I'd say get to training him in the OF and forego the idea of training him at SS. He should be a very good CF for you and I wouldn't try to put a square peg in a round hole. He is what he is.

i wouldn't have got SS. probably would've picked 3B given his arm if brute forcing something was going to happen.

I'll be training him from the get go at OF. If he happens to improve quickly enough, maybe i'll train 3B.

Ya. He doesn't bring much on either side of the ball. Could find better free agents.

I'll give him a chance, but he is really close to not good enough at short.

http://brokenbat.org/player/153031 Got lucky on a guy that could be a good reliever. This is the seventh player I have kept in this draft.
