It should be fun seeing how pitcher and catcher do when facing each other instead of acting as battery mates.

Spain and Argentina are likely to get trounced by perennial Final Four teams in the first round, but South Korea, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands have reasonable chances at advancing. My France, Croatia, and Guam representatives are sitting out.

Rosa was dominant in his only relief appearance, which is more than can be said for a couple of the SPs for Puerto Rico, but hopefully he will play better during the season with less usage in the World Classic.

MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | Canada couldn't close out Puerto Rico after going up 2-1. Poor Canucks. All of PR's semi and final games decided by one or two runs. Intense. On the personal side, my man Perez for Mexico had a strange WC. He had an embarrassing .167 BA, but cranked out 5 homers in just 48 at bats, his highest homer rate ever. 5 homers, 2 doubles, 1 single. How weird is that? As an aside, it would be cool to have an all-time World Cup leaderboard. In theory. If you know me, you know I don't want Steve wasting time on such things. Who can beat 19 homers by Perez? I bet he's really high for non-Americans. Updated Thursday, May 10 2018 @ 7:00:07 pm PDT |
