MukilteoMike Joined: 08/09/2014 Posts: 3294 Inactive | Anything more than 1 every 7 innings pitched is scary. In most instances I'm looking for at least 10 innings pitched per dinger. I released a long time reliever of mine that gave up a whopping 9 homers in 26 IP this season! Yikes. | ||

newtman Joined: 11/02/2013 Posts: 3343 Inactive | As long as they are all solo shots that don't cost me ball games, I'm alright with as many as they end up giving up. I'd rather give up 6 solo homers that don't cost me any games than two 3 run shots that cost me two ballgames. I know sequencing is mostly luck, but in my opinion its better to have a lucky pitcher than a good one. When that luck runs out, then he can be cut... a good one has to be ridden through storms, and still needs some luck to get through the great hitting teams. | ||
