Oct 24 2047: 2047 Tupelo Season Wrap up - by Gibstar on November 10th, 2020

It was a streaky season for the Blue Jays who improved on last season by 10 wins. (81-79)

After speaking with Gibstar he believed he put together a 90 win team with all the offseason moves last year. "To put it mildly, I feel we didn't perform to expectation.

When asked about some of the tough choices which include letting go of 2 long term Veteran players mid season, Gibstar stated "I should have made changes earlier, loyalty clouded my judgement"

It wasn't all doom and gloom as Gibstar heeped praised at the middle of his line up.

Moffet 32 HR, 137 RBI, .325 Avg.
Koehn 24 HR, 115 RBI, .324 Avg.
Morales 23 HR, 127 RBI, .308 Avg.

These guys came to play this year!!

Despite Veteran SP Mancini having another decent season with a 16-10 record and 3.01 ERA 21 QS Pitching let us down this year. a major focus will be on pitching this offseason.

Gibstar did say he found his closer of he future this year in Roper who accumulated 41 Saves with a 3.80 ERA.

In closing Gibstar known as a GM with high expectations says it was nice to improve our record by 10 games but I want more. "Promotion or bust he stated"

Jun 15 2047: Tough Decisions for Tupelo Management - by Gibstar on October 7th, 2020

With roughly 33% of the season in the books, Tupelo Management is having a hard look at some aging veterans who are clearly under performing to this point in the season. Loyalty vs Production vs Development.

30 year old 2B Marcelo Zuniga is batting .209 with 6 HR and 23 RBI in 41 games. This production is far from his all-star season 2045 where he hit .279 with 14 HR and 79 RBI in 143 games. At a salary of 1.4M Tupelo is seriously considering releasing the 10 year Vet to let some younger players get some first hand experience and development. 24 year old Daniel Eriksen is chomping at the bit to get some consistent Major League action after lighting up the spring league.

30 year old OF Leonardo Davila is currently batting .207 with 0 HR and 13 RBI in 41 games including 7 SB, mostly being kept around for his speed and outfield range his 1.1M salary is a little high for a part time role. That is a big drop off from the 2045 All-Star season where Davila hit .318 with 6HRs, 55 RBI and swiped 32 bases. Only time will tell how much rope Davila has left with Tupelo after 11 years with the club.

Even with a few struggling Vets the Tupelo Blue Jays record of 30-25 .545 is only 1 game behind front office projections for the season.

Lots of Baseball left to be played in 2047 as we all ponder the future of these struggling Vets.

Mar 06 2047: Future looks bright for Tupelo - by Gibstar on September 7th, 2020

2047 looks to be a turn around year for Tupelo. After the fury that is 14 waiver wire moves with a few more in the works. Tupelo has reworked most of the pitching issues that plagued the team last year. The Outfield that lacked roster depth has been restocked with some promising youth.

Tupelo has jumped out to a 7-2 spring training record with many young players making a case for roster spot. Utility Infielder Erickson is batting .500 after playing in all 9 games thus far. Superior play like this will present some difficult roster decisions for new management who took over mid-season 2046.

Gibstar and the new management team promise to deliver a quality product on the field for all the loyal Tupelo supporters.

Could promotion be in sight? only time will tell!

2046 record 71-89
2047 Target 91-69

Jul 16 2044: A Decent Start - by BaltimoreBlue on February 27th, 2020

After the ownership change almost a month ago, the Tupelo Blue Jays have gotten off to a decent start with their current record being 40 - 40. Though it isn't the best start, we believe we can kick it off well in the late season with some new pitching and batting changes.
