May 25 2062: Honoring the Legacy of Frank Pruitt: A Revered Baseball and Crusader Legend - by zeldag33k45 on November 30th, 2023

Today is a somber day for Crusaders fans as we learned of Frank Pruitt’s passing in his sleep due to a heart attack at age 82. Frank's nephew, Rich Pruitt, who is also a Crusaders legend, released a heartfelt statement expressing his profound sorrow and utmost respect for Frank's impact on the sport of baseball, the team, and himself. T.J. Kramer, the current Crusaders manager, spoke solemnly about Frank's indelible mark on the organization, emphasizing his exceptional skills as a player and the positive influence he had on the team's culture.

Despite struggling in his first two seasons, Frank quickly became a dominant force on the field for the Crusaders. For six remarkable seasons, Frank consistently delivered extraordinary performances, hitting double-digit home runs and stealing double-digit bases. His contributions to the team were immeasurable.

In 2014, Frank bid farewell to the game he loved, and in 2020, the Crusaders honored his illustrious career with a beautiful retirement ceremony. On that poignant day, Frank had the privilege of witnessing his nephew, Rich Pruitt, achieve a remarkable feat, hitting for the cycle and driving in seven runs in a resounding 15-0 victory. Rich tearfully dedicated his outstanding performance to his late father, Dick Pruitt, and his beloved uncle, Frank.

Frank's legacy with the Crusaders is one of reverence and admiration. He leaves behind an extraordinary record, with a career slash line of .307/.347/.529, making him the all-time franchise leader in batting average. Additionally, he ranks among the Crusaders' top performers in career triples, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and stolen bases.

Today, we mourn the loss of a beloved member of the Crusaders family. Frank Pruitt's memory will forever be cherished, and his impact on the sport and the lives of those he touched will never be forgotten.
